Poet Laureate Project
- In the Poet Laureate project we created poems based off different time periods.
- I’m most proud of writing my poem, I’ve never wrote a poem before.
- I remember presenting my poem to everyone, not a lot of people were pay attention, but my friend Daniel was laughing extremely hard because I used a pun from a musical we were in together in my poem.
- I learned how to manage my time wisely, because I had so much trouble writing this poem and work on other important work at the same time.

Place we call home
by Zack Purdy
The Laws are set in stone
Where immigrants are united as one
To join forces with this one great nation
We call home
As most men and women stand alone
Only these set of rules will be the one
To give everybody the thing they desire.
That is our home.
Is it the odds alone?
That these rules and regulations
Will everyone get the respect they deserve?
To live in a better home?
After giving it some thought
It's finally decided
This Constitution is everyone's hope
For a better tomorrowAnd a respectable future
In this place we call home
These set of rules states and it quote's
"We the people of the United States
in order to form a more perfect union
establish justice, insure domestic tranquility"
The end is near, for this convention
Then I was asked by my fellow peers
"What have you wrought?"
In response to their plea, I boast
"A republic, if you can keep it"
It has finally come to pass
The rules are now official
We can now live peacefully
In this place we now can call home.
